MARYLAND FASHION WEEK EVENTS

“Lights, Camera, Fashion” Sophistication the Next Level will be this year’s events theme

Laurel, Maryland – The 9th Annual Maryland Fashion Week (mdFashionWeek | MDFW) presented by Model and Talent (MAT) Associates will take place August 3 – 11, 2013 for a week long overdose of high fashion and entertainment. Maryland Fashion Week has been recognized as the Washington Metropolitan’s Premiere Fashion showcase bringing international, national, and local talents to the runway.   Governor Martin O’Malley supports Maryland Fashion Week as an official fashion week while honoring MDFW 2013 with a Proclamation. Maryland’s fashion industry has flourished and gained notoriety locally, nationally and internationally proving MDFW the revered platform catapulting opportunities for designers and talent in the area. MDFW has done major renovations yearly with eight (8) previous successful years; this year’s venues will depict what Maryland Fashion is all about, Fashion, Business, and Community Involvement.

Fashionistas can look forward to designers such as this 14 year old sensation Tumisola from London; a fabulous Latino designer from Columbia, South America, designers from North Carolina, Richmond, DC and many more will showcase their hot new couture lines during MDFW.

MDFW 2013 is proud to present two huge sponsor and venue announcements, our new Partnership with Six Flags of America, will kick off MDFW 2013 with “Splashin’ & Fashion” at the outdoor 4000 seat theater within Gotham city. The “Splashin’ & Fashion” event will include summer fun and family fashion with give-a-ways, live Music, and so much more. Our finale event will be held at the Luxurious Martins Camelot, this magnificent venue will feature the MDFW Fashion house, where Fashionistas will get to experience fashion vendors, MDFW media showcases, and special guest appearances.

 Designers, fashion show producers, models, glam squads, media, bloggers, publicists, fashion and industry professionals are invited to be involved in the success of bringing high fashion to the state of Maryland. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Performing Arts Scholarship Award and other selected charities to be announced.

 Maryland Fashion Week partners with the London England Fashion Group International to boost worldwide exposure and establish the DMV as a well known fashion capital. Last year one of MDFW’s models participated in major fashion events for the London School of designs. MDFW producers went to London to participate as judges in the London Young Designer Awards Showcase in October 2012. Darian Johnson (MDFW model) earned the title of Maryland Fashion Week’s Model of the Year as well was selected to participate in the London Fashion week experience. MDFW 2013 will conduct a model call casting on April 6, 2013 at their Laurel MD Studios to search for elite models to grace the stages in the DMV during MDFW 2013. The cover and spokes models will be selected for complete coverage on “A Model Life” for MDFWtv, MDFW official website, programs, magazine, and prizes.
